Bad breath is one thing that a significant percentage of the human population suffer from and not very many people know an alternative measure to fresh breath than minty gum or mouthwash.

If you fall into the category of people with bad breath or you know someone that does, you may first want to rule out all of the reasons you have halitosis and ensure that you are brushing your teeth appropriately.

After doing that, you may want to try this simple yet reliable cure for bad breath, but is usually the last thing most people think of.

The simple truth is your Stinky smelling and awful breath could be a sign that you are dehydrated. Not drinking enough water could actually be responsible for the awful smell that comes out of your mouth.

You should not think that living a life of mouth wash four times a day is always going to cure your bad breath. When your mouth becomes more dry, you have less saliva. And when you have less saliva, food and bacteria tends to sit in your mouth for a much longer period of time.

As such, drinking more water every day can almost certainly keep the dentist away and help improve your breath. Moreover, you may want to be cautious of drinking coffee or alcohol, smoking, or certain medications; all of which can cause dry mouth.

You should however note that there are other things that may cause bad breath.

Asides being dehydrated, having a dry mouth or poor hygiene may make your mouth five off a less than appealing smell. Dentists recommend always brushing your teeth at night, since trapped food and bacteria can produce an odour while you sleep.

If you find that your bad breath sticks around, despite the subtle efforts you make, a dentist might need to help you uncover the root cause of your halitosis.
